Our Curriculum Overview
A Commitment to Excellence
Orinwolf Schoolhouse aims at offering all our students a broad and balanced curriculum that provides rewarding and stimulating activities to prepare them for the best social and cultural life.

Competency Based Curriculum (CBC)
Core focus: Developing practical competencies for real-life success and lifelong learning. The Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) is learner-centred and focuses not only on what learners know, but also on what they can do with what they learn. At Orinwolf, CBC can be presented as an approach that encourages learners to develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, creativity, communication, collaboration and confidence alongside academic knowledge. Key characteristics Learner-centred education Development of practical competencies Application of knowledge to real-life situations Creativity and critical thinking Collaboration and communication Character development Lifelong learning What learners gain The emphasis is on helping learners become capable and confident individuals who can apply their knowledge beyond examinations and the classroom. Building practical skills, developing competencies and preparing learners for success in real life.

Montessori Curriculum
Core focus: Independence, curiosity, confidence and discovery. The Montessori Curriculum is described in the Master Transfer Document as child-led. This means the learner is given opportunities to explore, discover and develop at an appropriate pace within a supportive learning environment. For Orinwolf, Montessori can therefore be positioned particularly strongly around independence and discovery. Key characteristics Child-led learning Independent exploration Learning through discovery Development of curiosity Confidence building Respect for individual learning needs Practical and meaningful learning experiences What learners gain Learners are encouraged to become increasingly independent, confident and curious about the world around them. Rather than presenting learning simply as memorising information, the Montessori approach encourages children to explore, investigate, practise and discover. Nurturing independent, curious and confident learners through child-led discovery.

Cambridge Curriculum
Core focus: Strong academic foundations and critical thinking. The Cambridge Curriculum is identified by Orinwolf as a globally respected curriculum that develops academic foundations and critical-thinking skills. This pathway can be positioned for families seeking a structured, internationally recognised academic route. Key characteristics Strong academic foundations Structured learning Critical thinking Analytical skills Academic progression International orientation Preparation for further education What learners gain Learners develop a strong foundation in their academic subjects while learning to analyse information, reason carefully and approach problems systematically. The emphasis is therefore not simply on achieving good grades, but on developing the knowledge and thinking skills necessary for continued academic success. Building strong academic foundations and critical-thinking skills through a globally respected curriculum.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
Core focus: Inquiry, knowledge, confidence, compassion and global citizenship. The International Baccalaureate (IB) is described in the Orinwolf document as inquiry-based, with an emphasis on developing knowledgeable, confident and compassionate global citizens. This makes IB particularly compatible with Orinwolf's wider emphasis on character development, leadership and responsible global citizenship. Key characteristics Inquiry-based learning Curiosity and investigation Independent thinking Global awareness Confidence Compassion Responsible citizenship What learners gain Learners are encouraged to ask questions, investigate ideas, understand different perspectives and develop a broader understanding of the world. The approach goes beyond academic achievement by encouraging learners to become knowledgeable, confident and responsible members of society. Developing knowledgeable, confident and compassionate learners prepared to contribute to a changing world.

American Curriculum
The curriculum offers a broad and balanced education across key areas such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Technology, Arts, Physical Education, and other enrichment areas. Learning is structured to accommodate different abilities, interests, and learning styles while encouraging students to take an active role in their education. A key strength of the American approach is its emphasis on understanding rather than memorisation. Students are encouraged to ask questions, investigate ideas, solve problems, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and develop their own perspectives. Through projects, discussions, experiments, research, presentations, and hands-on activities, learning becomes engaging and meaningful. At Orinwolf Schoolhouse, the American Curriculum is also adapted to support the development of the whole child. Alongside academic achievement, students are encouraged to build leadership, responsibility, creativity, resilience, communication skills, and good character. Our goal is to prepare learners not only for examinations and further education, but also for a rapidly changing world. The American Curriculum gives students a strong academic foundation while equipping them with the skills, confidence, and curiosity needed to thrive in higher education, careers, and everyday life
